Kay Johnson1935 ~2012Francis Kay Johnson, 77, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. Mark's Hospital of natural causes.Kay was born January 27, 1935 in Murray, Utah to Franz Albert Demke and Karoline Christine Marie Held Demke. She attended Murray High School where she met her future husband, Donald Keith Johnson. The high school sweethearts were married in 1952 and spent 60 years together living in the Murray area. Kay was a member of the LDS church.Kay worked at Dykes Pharmacy in Murray for many years and then worked for Cook Lumber and later Butterfield Lumber.Kay was a loving wife and mother. She was always planning a new adventure to share with her sisters. She especially enjoyed attending Brigham Young University football games. She loved to follow the team to away games and witnessed many memorable BYU victories.She created beautiful dolls and intricate ceramic pieces, which she proudly displaced and often gave her best pieces to her family and friends. She enjoyed the various activities and treasured the many friends she had at the Mount Olympus Senior Center. Kay is survived by her husband; and her son, Donald Kay Johnson. She will be missed by her sister and friend, Mary Ann Carlston; her brother, John Franz Demke; and many extended family members.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ray Held Demke; and sisters, Dorothy Louise Armistead and Virginia Caroline Oettinger.Funeral services will be Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah. Viewings will be at the mortuary Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday morning 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Mountain View Cemetery. "Good bye Mom, Rise and Shout!
