The 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is perhaps the most violated and disregarded portion of the entire document. Items not specifically allowed the federal government, nor prohibited to the states, are left to the states. Massachusetts health care (i.e. Romneycare) is in conformity; federal health care (i.e. Obamacare) is clearly not.
There are those who contend that the entire nation will pay for Massachusetts health care because Massachusetts health care uses funds prudently harvested from numerous federally funded programs rather than returning such funds to the federal Treasury.
This is nonsense. There could have been no opportunity to harvest funds from the programs unless the programs themselves were bloated to start with. The claim that not returning funds thus frugally harvested amounts to the same thing as the entire nation funding Massachusetts health care is a real stretch.
