Irene B. Armstrong1922 ~ 2012Irene Bluemel Armstrong, age 90, died February 24, 2012. Born in Logan, Utah on January 27, 1922. Daughter of Joseph and Estella Wiley Bluemel. Married David Armstrong on February 28, 1943 in Midvale, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, on June 30, 1965. Dave passed away on February 18, 1987. Irene attended school in Logan, Utah. She worked at Remington Arms in Salt Lake City during WWII. Also worked at Deseret Pharmaceutical, Beehive Clothing and as a nurses' aide. She held many positions in the LDS church. Irene loved gardening, music, playing the guitar and harmonica, genealogy and especially her family. In later years, was a name extractor for the LDS church, and a temple worker. She loved God. Survived by two sons: David J. Armstrong (Sherrol) of Sandy, William J. Armstrong (Kim) of Midvale, 8 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services.
