Colleen Henderson Orton"Together Again"Our loving mother has been reunited with her sweetheart having passed away February 22, 2012.Colleen was born in Tooele, Utah on April 11, 1928 to John and Irma Henderson. She spent her childhood in Sutherland, Payson, and Salem Utah and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. Colleen married her eternal companion, Byron L. Orton on July 31, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived their entire married life of sixty-three years in the same house in Salem, Utah where they raised five children: Richard (Janiel), Irma Jean Blake (Dale), Joan Haderlie (Steven), Douglas (Debbie), and Colette Uptain (Tracy). During the course of her life she developed great skills in cooking, sewing, writing poetry and was a captivating storyteller. She was an excellent homemaker and loved the beauty of flowers that filled her yard and home. She was employed by Nebo School District as a teacher aide for twenty years and made many life-long friendships. Colleen served faithfully throughout her life in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her favorite positions during her later years was ward primary president. She loved the primary children and they reflected their love back to her. Colleen loved her extensive posterity and knew each of them by name. Her sole desire was to see them happily progressing and developing into spirits worthy of God's richest blessings. Through example, she taught them to live worthy to dwell as an eternal family. Thank you mother for the sweet, happy and positive attitude you shared with all of us.Five children, thirty-one grandchildren and ninety-six great-grandchildren survive her. Her loving husband and two grandsons preceded her in death.The family would like to thank Hearthstone Manor and Freedom Health for the compassionate care they provided our mother.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the LDS Chapel at 60 South Main, Salem. There will be a viewing at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the chapel on Monday prior to the service.
