Fern is the oldest daughter of Mahonri Moriancumer and Estella Starling Dansie. She was raised during the depression with a strong work ethic and sense of gratitude for tender mercies from the Lord. She graduated from West High School and went to work immediately to help her parents pay off their home and help support her six siblings.
