Clive D. Kirk1921 ~ 2012Clive D. Kirk, the beloved husband and sweetheart to his eternal companion, Norine R. Kirk, whom he was sealed to in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1956, passed away on February 20, 2012, at the age of 90. Clive was born on July 11, 1921, in Salt Lake City to William Phillip Kirk and Laura Peterson Kirk. He graduated from East High School and LDS Business College where he completed a course in accounting. He worked in this professional career for many years until he retired. Clive was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a firm testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and enjoyed serving in many callings in the LDS Church. He served as President, Counselor and Coach in the Young Men's; President of the Sunday School; Counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency and High Priest Group; Teacher in Young Men's, Sunday School and Priesthood. He served as one of the Seven Presidents of the 70's in the Stake and served two Stake Missions and as a Stake Mission President. He served as Ward Financial Clerk and as a Veil Worker in the Jordan River Temple for many years. He was active in politics and served many times as a State Delegate. He loved the outdoors and fishing was a favorite hobby of his. At a young age he was sick with Polio which resulted in problems with his right leg. In 2007, a bad fall led to the amputation of his right leg and he spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He kept a positive attitude about life and was able to project this to those around him which made him pleasant company. Clive will be remembered by his wife, his children, and grandchildren for his willingness to serve them and the good times he shared with them. Clive was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bill and sister Donna. Survived by his wife Norine; son, Duane (Terri) and nine grandchildren; daughter Linda (Randy) and 10 grandchildren, daughter Sharon; brother Vance (Beverly); sister in Law, Elva Kirk. Also survived by six great grandchildren, four nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Union Fort 5th Ward, 6770 South 500 East, Midvale, Utah. Friends and family may visit at a viewing on Friday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah and 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday prior to funeral services. Interment at Lake Hills Memorial Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.The family wishes to express their thanks to the care givers at CareSource who took care of our father in his final weeks of life.
