FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Southern Utah was unable to come up with a conference road win it its final attempt on Monday as the Thunderbirds fell at IPFW by a final score of 70-60. SUU trailed the Mastodons by a count of 38-19 at halftime, but narrowed the margin to as few as nine points down the stretch before eventually losing, 70-60.
Anne Boese led all scorers with 19 points after going 5-of-7 from the outside. The 'Dons got another 15 from Sarah Haluska while Amanda Hyde chipped in a dozen more.
The loss drops Southern Utah to 2-15 in the Summit League and gives the T-birds a final conference road mark of 0-9 for the season. IPFW improves to 6-10 in league play and gives the Mastodons a chance to move up in the standings heading into the Summit League Tournament.
