EAST LANSING, Mich. — The streaking Michigan State Spartans have won five straight games to move into sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.
They have company in the conference standings.
Michigan and Ohio State are only a game behind with four games left in the regular season, potentially setting up a fantastic finish in the Big Ten title race. Wisconsin is just another game back and Indiana is lurking close enough to have a chance to rally for at least a piece of the title.
Spartans coach Tom Izzo says he's not comfortable with the lead. He says four or five teams have a shot at finishing first.
Michigan State closes the regular season at home against the Buckeyes.
