LOGAN — Preston Medlin scored 22 points to lead Utah State University's second-half charge in a 70-58 non-conference men's basketball victory over Montana Tech on Tuesday night.
Medlin notched his eighth 20-point game of the season and had nine rebounds for the Aggies (14-13). Brockeith Pane hit double figures for the 40th time in his career, scoring 16 points with five assists.
Adam Greger scored 12 points for the Orediggers, an NAIA team that played the game as an exhibition. Brian Cummings added 11 and Cole Conway 10, while AJ Paine had six assists.
Montana Tech led 34-30 at halftime and scored the first five points after the break. But Pane scored six and Medlin three in a 9-0 USU run that tied it at 39.
The Orediggers crept back ahead 43-40, but the Aggies responded with a 14-2 run for a 54-45 lead with 10:04 to go and finished with a 40-24 second-half scoring advantage.
