Union Pacific brought these custom locomotives back to Utah in honor of the 10th anniversary of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. The locomotives were originally part of the 2002 Olympic Torch Relay, a 65-day, 13,500-mile journey across 46 states that began on Dec. 4, 2001, in Atlanta. The locomotives arrived in Salt Lake City for the opening ceremonies Feb. 8, 2002.
