LOS ANGELES — The commotion of his whirlwind season has subsided, leaving Tim Tebow extra time to pursue one of his favorite things: trying to make a difference in others' lives.

His target Monday was 100 kids at the Challengers Boys & Girls Club in south Los Angeles, some of whom knew who the Denver Broncos quarterback was and others who, somewhat surprisingly, didn't.

Tebow was promoting books and reading, with nary an Xbox in sight. He told the kids how he has been dyslexic since childhood.

During a question-and-answer session with the kids, one query in particular got the loudest response of all. Tebow was asked if he "has a thing" with pop singer Katy Perry. He laughingly assured the kids he does not.
