ST. LOUIS — Winter weather has made a cameo return to Missouri, interrupting an unusually mild and dry winter with blustery conditions and snow that slickened roads, caused numerous wrecks and prompted class cancelations in hundreds of school districts.
By Monday afternoon, up to 3 inches of snow had fallen in some parts of the states, and wind gusting up to 20 mph didn't help.
Snow was blamed for a fatal wreck on Highway 79 in Lincoln County. Authorities say 44-year-old Amanda Moon of Clarksville died in the accident. It wasn't immediately clear if the weather was to blame for a fatal wreck on Interstate 64 at Lake St. Louis. Details of that accident have not been released.
