Editor's note: Because of scoring error, Altamont was originally crowned the 1A North champion. The error was correct a day later, and Duchesne is the actual 1A North champion.

Duchesne's bid to knock off two-time 1A state champion Altamont got off to a great start at the 1A Northern Regionals at Rich High School on Saturday as it beat Altamont 226 to 218.

Altamont had six first-place finishers and qualified 17 wrestlers to next week's state tournament at UVU.

First-place finishers for Altamont were Brady Farnsworth (106 pounds), Blake Thompson (138), Rylee Foy (160), Kyle Foy (170), Denver Knight (182) and Cassidy Smith (285).
