Obituary: MCQUEEN, NADENE

Frances Nadene Carlile McQueen1924 ~ 2012Coalville, UtahFrances Nadene McQueen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at her home on February 11, 2012. Born December 9, 1924, in Heber City, Utah to Charles Francis and Sarah Vivian Carlile. She graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber. She married the love of her life, Merrald Robert McQueen, on June 3, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Nadene was a wonderful friend to all and enjoyed being with friends and family. She was a gifted musician who could play many instruments by 'ear' but especially enjoyed the accordion, organ and piano. She loved playing the omnichord with her sister and brother. Camping and making cookies for her grandchildren were some of her favorite things to do. Many kitchens are blessed with her hand-crocheted dish clothes. She worked at the school lunch where she made many lifelong friends. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Primary, Relief Society and was a faithful visiting teacher. We will miss our wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Merildene (David) Judd, Carl (Terry) McQueen, Colleen (Alan) Simister, Larry (Brenda) McQueen; sister, Wanda (Lester) Simmons and sister-in-law, Ethel McQueen; 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and two brothers, Darrel and Clay. We would like to thank Geogene, Kathy and all other staff of Applegate Homecare and Hospice for their loving care of our dear Mom. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 12 noon in the Coalville LDS Stake Center.
