KEARNS — Police have made an arrest in a shooting that left one man critically injured.
Billy Lee Rohwedder, 33, was taken into custody Thursday evening at the Studio 6 Hotel in Murray, Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. A number of leads and various interviews led police to Rohwedder.
"Through the investigation detectives learned that the victim was alone with Billy Rohwedder in a car when the victim was shot," Hoyal said. "The victim was then dumped at 4520 W. 4865 South."
The man was found around 4 a.m. Thursday by three passers-by, who called police. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Hoyal said Friday that the man was still in critical condition, but was making improvements.
Rohwedder was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of attempted murder and obstruction of justice.
Hoyal said police are still looking into what may have motivated the shooting. The two men were acquaintances.
