SALT LAKE CITY — A man and a woman have been charged in the theft of $11,000 found in a purse that was left in a parked car.
The victim had left her purse in her car while she went into the McDougal Funeral Home at 4330 S. Redwood Road. When she returned she noticed her car had been broken into and her purse with the money was missing, according to charges filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court.
Kody Eli Dalton, 34, and Samantha Jo Scott, 25, have been charged theft, a second-degree felony, and vehicle burglary, a class A misdemeanor, according to charges filed Tuesday in the 3rd District Court.
Charges state that investigators received information from Scott that she and Dalton broke into the car and took the purse. Dalton told investigators he spent all the money within nine days on heroin and cocaine, charges state.
