Officials respond to a collision between a TRAX train and a pickup truck accident at 200 West and 900 South, Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.

SALT LAKE CITY — A TRAX accident involving a pickup truck at 900 South and 200 West caused significant delays on northbound and southbound downtown lines Monday.
According to Salt Lake police Lt. Josh Scharman, witnesses said the truck ran a red light when traveling west and collided with the train around 4:30 p.m. The front portion of the train was derailed, and the driver of the truck was hospitalized in stable condition.
The collision led to significant delays for commuters, who were ferried around the collision by buses, until around 7 p.m.
