Break up the dreary days of winter by celebrating a fun and under-appreciated holiday, Groundhog Day. Start Feb. 2 off right by making these treats with your family and enjoying them while you eagerly await the groundhog's prediction.
Groundhog Day Dessert
What you will need for each person:
1 snack-size pudding cup
2 tablespoons graham cracker or chocolate cookie crumbs
1 donut hole
2 Cheerios
3 chocolate chips
1 teaspoon coconut flakes (optional)
Putting it together:
Open the pudding cup and remove 1 teaspoon of pudding to be used for "glue." Smooth out the remaining pudding in the cup.
Sprinkle crumbs on top of the pudding cup.
Make a donut hole groundhog by attaching the Cheerios to the top of the donut hole with a small amount of the reserved pudding. These are his ears. Next, attach the chocolate chips to the front of the donut hole for eyes and a nose. Place the groundhog in the center of the pudding cup.
For a snowy effect, sprinkle coconut flakes around the base of the groundhog.
