SALT LAKE CITY — An arrest warrant for misdemeanor abuse of a vulnerable adult was obtained for a man accused of abusing his girlfriend.
According to the warrant filed in 3rd District Court, West Valley police went to the Value Place Hotel Jan. 21 after receiving a request to check on the well-being of a woman there.
Officers made contact with a woman who is paralyzed from the neck down. Police say they learned that her cohabitant boyfriend, identified as Brennon Peters, 25, had stricken her in the face with a telephone.
The officer said based on a risk of future harm, the arrest warrant is necessary. Peters has been charged with class A misdemeanor abuse of a vulnerable adult.
