SALT LAKE CITY — A trio of charges have been filed against a Sandy man after a Salt Lake County dispute earlier this month in which one man was stabbed and his wife beaten across the face.
Jonathan Spencer Baty, a Salt Lake County resident, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor counts of assault and intoxication.
The male victim told Unified Police that during the Jan. 21 encounter at a residence in Salt Lake County, the man suddenly began stabbing him and he received multiple injuries to his arms, face and throat, according to charges. When his wife stepped in to intervene, she was hit in the face.
Baty, 27, said he was trying to defend himself.
