OGDEN — The promise of a trip to Spain was all it took to convince North Davis Preparatory Academy students and teachers alike to brave the frigid Weber River at Fort Buenaventura State Park in Ogden.
Organizers of the Polar Bear Plunge broke through the six to eight inches of ice on Friday so 75 willing members of the community could jump in Saturday morning. The event was a fundraiser for 25 ninth grade students from North Davis Preparatory Academy who will travel to Spain for 10 days in March. Any excess funds will go to support scholarships in upcoming years.
