WEST VALLEY CITY — A seven-year-old girl was in critical condition Friday after she was hit by a car just south of 3800 West on Redwood Rd.
"It appears that she ran or darted across the road," said Sgt. Mike Powell with West Valley Police.
The accident happened around 4 p.m., and a 13-year-old girl who was with the injured girl tried to stop her from running out, police say.
The girl suffered a broken arm and some internal injuries and was taken in a medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition.
Police were still investigating the accident as of Friday afternoon and hadn't cited the driver.
