Photos: Taylorsville honors veterans in all branches of the military with parade and memorial
Rex Bass, past commander of the Utah State American Legion, rides in an old pickup truck in the Veterans Day Parade in Taylorsville on Nov. 11, 2011. The parade featured UPD motor squad, several marching bands, and many veterans from all branches of service. Grand marshals for the parade included the family of Jared William Day, Taylorsville resident and Navy communicator, who was KIA in Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011. Co-grand marshal was SFC Daniel Nehring, Taylorsville resident who has recently served in Iraq and who is one of the models for the Taylorsville Veterans Memorial sculpture.
