"THE ENCHANTED TUNNEL: Wandering in the Wilderness," by Marianne Monson, Deseret Book, $7.99, 85 pages (f)

"The Enchanted Tunnel: Wandering in the Wilderness" is the fourth book in "The Enchanted Tunnel" series by author Marianne Monson. The series follows twins Nathan and Aria as they travel back in time through a magical passageway underneath the stage in the church's cultural hall.

In the fourth book, Nathan and Aria find themselves in Arabia, and they spend an evening with Nephi and his family, who are traveling through the wilderness to the promised land.

Nephi has broken his bow at a time when his family is in desperate need of food. Nathan and Aria witness firsthand the power of faith in action.

"The Enchanted Tunnel: Wandering in the Wilderness" does a great job of bringing the scriptures to life for young readers. It helps them imagine being right there in the action with those scriptural heroes and heroines that they know and love. The author does a great job of explaining the historical background with some interesting fun facts at the end of the book.

There is also a fun activity included to help make the story tangible.

"Wandering in the Wilderness" not only brings the scriptures to life, but also reinforces gospel principles taught at home and at church.

It's a great read for ages 4 and up.
