HERRIMAN — A special meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, to gather input from residents in Herriman about how to best address the city’s street racing problem.
The meeting will be at the Juniper Point Club House, 4847 W. River Chase Road, from 6 to 8 p.m.
City officials will outline the steps the city has already taken to make the streets safer and things it is considering doing, such as changing the way some roads are striped. One option is called road diet, where the roads are stripped so they don’t look as wide, which tends to make drivers slow down.
Residents will also have time to give their ideas on how to make the city’s streets safer.
Racing motorcycles plowed into a crowded neighborhood street party in Herriman three years ago and nearly killed a toddler. On July 26, in the same neighborhood, a racing car ended up in a yard.
