MusicCares Foundation partners with big-name artists for Salt Lake City shows

A handful of notable artists, including Josh Groban, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw, will be performing in Salt Lake City this summer in association with Tickets-for-Charity, an organization that providing ticket sales revenue to a variety of charities including the MusiCares Foundation.

Owl City started the series by performing July 13 at the Venue in Salt Lake City.

Tickets-for-Charity allows buyers to donate a fixed amount of their ticket price to charities of their choices. Tickets-for-Charity was created by Jord Poster, the founder of Priceline.com.

Sugarland, which will be performing at the USANA Amphitheatre on Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m., released a statement saying it is grateful to be part of the umbrella organization of the MusiCares Foundation and the charities with which the band is uniquely involved.

“We’re so inspired by the work of Habitat for Humanity, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and MusiCares," the statement read. "It’s been great working with Tickets-for-Charity to offer fans the chance to get great concert seats while supporting such amazing organizations.”

McGraw is giving a portion of his ticket sales to The Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Swift is giving to MusiCares, while Rascal Flatts is donating to NRA Country Cares.

McGraw will perform at the USANA Amphitheatre on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m., followed by Groban on Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. at Energy Solutions Arena. Following Sugarland's performance, Rascal Flatts will be at the USANA Amphitheatre on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., while Swift will be in town Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. to perform at EnergySolutions Arena.
