SALT LAKE CITY The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has
announced this years Latino Christmas program, to be held Dec. 68 in the
Tabernacle on Temple Square. The program, titled El regalo de navidad, will be
presented entirely in Spanish, with a limited number of headsets available for
English and Portuguese interpretation.People of all faiths are invited to attend the Christmas program.
Through narration and song, the Christmas story will unfold as a 400-voice
choir sings traditional Christmas carols from Spain, Latin America and other
parts of the world accompanied by several Latin American instrumental groups.
There will also be a childrens choir, and a Christmas message given by a
general authority of the Church.
There will be four performances of El regalo de navidad, each lasting about
one hour. The performances will be at 7 p.m. nightly Dec. 6-8, with a 3 p.m.
matinee on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The event is free to the public, but tickets are required. There is a limit
of six tickets per person. Tickets are now available and may be obtained online
at www.lds.org/events or by calling the Conference Center ticket office at
801-570-0080 or toll-free at 1-866-537-8457. Tickets may also be obtained in
person at the ticket office located at door 4 of the Conference Center. The
ticket office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Those driving to the program should plan to arrive early and should park only in
designated parking areas. However, because of the popularity of Temple Square
programs during the Christmas season, use of public transportation such as TRAX
is strongly encouraged.
