Pres. Monson tours Curitiba temple

CURITIBA, BRAZIL – President Thomas S. Monson got his first look on Saturday at the newest temple built by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.President Monson, accompanied by Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve and Charles Didier of the Seventy and president of the church’s Brazil Area, visited the new temple around noon Saturday after having addressed missionaries earlier in the day. President Monson will dedicate the temple, the fifth in Brazil, on Sunday.Fernando Araujo, an area seventy of the church and chairman of the Curitiba Brazil Temple committee, greeted him for the temple tour on Saturday.President Monson and Elder Nelson, along with Elder Nelson’s wife, Wendy, arrived in Curitiba on Friday night. On Saturday evening, they attended a cultural program highlighting the history of Latter-day Saints from the founding of the church to its growth in present-day Brazil.On Monday, President Monson will go to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, and is scheduled to address members of the church.
