It is prerace and here is what the athletes are thinking and worrying about.

Julia Bachsion - It’s Friday night and we are all getting

settled before the big race tomorrow. This trip has been great! It’s so

exciting to be in New York City kicking off a great start to an awesome team. A

team that not only that celebrates the sport of running but also celebrates

being LDS and proud of it. I’m so proud to be on a team and associated with

amazing people and athletes. One reason I love running is because it is a

personal challenge one that pushes you to endure to the end even though we have

a team to relate to and depend on essentially our performance tomorrow will

fully fall upon ourselves. I feel that living the gospel is a lot like that and

depends a lot on enduring to the end. We’ve been having a great time shopping,

seeing the sights and just simply walking around. Well until after the race

have a great one. 

 

Heather Anderson - I never realized two days could go by so

fast. I started with a 5am wake-up call and rushed to the SL airport in a

sweatshirt and baseball cap. We flew all day and arrived in NY in time to eat

the legendary Ray’s pizza. We girls made a quick stop at Duane Reade for a much

needed chocolate supply. Back at the hotel I studied for 6hrs straight. Yes,

that means I finally closed my books at 4am. Moments later, 8:30am, my alarm

rang and I was off to meet with New York Models. I still can’t believe I found

my way around NY on the subway all by myself. I met up with Julia and Jenna and

we registered for the race and grabbed our numbers. Then came our down
