Upcoming Utah concert and art symposium

Ballam, opera event plannedMusical Extravaganza, featuring Michael Ballam and the Utah Festival Opera Company, will be held June 28 at the Cottonwood High School auditorium. The event, sponsored by the Holladay Region Single Adult Council, starts at 6 p.m. with a reception, and performance at 7 p.m. Cost is $15. Go to www.slc-sa.org to register.Art symposium on 'Godliness'This year's "Art, Belief, Meaning" symposium at the Brigham Young University Museum of Art will address the artist's challenge of representing Godliness, from the perspective of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Noted LDS artist Brian Kershisnik, a guest professor at BYU in 2006 and an artist in residence at the Utah Museum of Fine Art in 2007, will speak at the event, which will take place Nov. 7, 2008.
