The world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir is now under the direction of accomplished choral composer Mack Wilberg. Music director Craig Jessop resigned on Tuesday, and a church news release issued that evening announced that Wilberg has been named interim choir director."Now the choir, with Mack Wilberg as the interim director, will move forward building on the foundation that both Craig and Mack and their predecessors have helped to lay," choir president Mac Christensen said in the news release.Wilberg, a native of Castle Dale, is a Brigham Young University graduate with master's and doctorate degrees from the University of California. He is a best-selling arranger for Oxford University Press, and his new CD "Requiem" continues to be near the top of Deseret Book's best-seller list.
