WEST HAVEN, Utah — A 19-year-old West Haven man has been arrested in connection with a vandalism spree that caused thousands of dollars in damage to vehicles, homes and an LDS church early Saturday morning.
Alex Rasmussen was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of public intoxication, illegal consumption/possession of alcohol and criminal mischief. Rasmussen was arrested after police received a call reporting a suspicious person in the vicinity of the vandalized property, according to a release from the Weber County Sheriff's Office.
Weber County dispatchers responded to numerous calls Saturday reporting vandalism to vehicles. They later discovered that some homes in the area had also been damaged. Windows and glass doors of a meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2350 S. 2700 West also were broken.
A Weber County deputy stopped Rasmussen to talk with him around 6 a.m. and noticed small pieces of glass in his hair.
Other victims of the vandalism spree can contact the Weber County Sheriff's Office at 801-629-8221.
