"The Errand of Angels," a movie about the lives of Mormon sister missionaries, will be available on DVD beginning Tuesday. The movie, from Mirror Films and Excel Entertainment, was released in theaters in August. It played at this year's BYU Women's Conference and won the best-picture award at the 2008 Thunderbird Film Festival in Cedar City."Errand" follows Rachel Taylor (television and voice actress Erin Chambers), a female missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who finds her faith and her patience tested by trying circumstances in Austria, as well as with disagreeable mission companions. The movie is based on some of the mission experiences of Brigham Young University graduate and first-time writer Heidi Johnson.Austrian-born LDS filmmaker Christian Vuissa read Johnson's story and worked with Johnson to create the motion picture. The final movie is a combination of Johnson's original mission story and some of Vuissa's own mission experiences as well. It was shot in Austria.Vuissa is founder of the LDS Film Festival, held each January in Orem. He was director and producer of "Baptists at Our Barbecue."
