Brigham Young University student Kaylee Holyoak, 20, Sam Haydon, 10, of Provo, and BYU student Jenna Harlan, 23, lead a handcart minitrek from This is the Place Heritage Park to Temple Square on Friday. The minitrek is to raise awareness for BYU's upcoming Mormon Trail Handcart Trek from Iowa City to Salt Lake City.The Mormon Trail Handcart Trek 2009 will commence next April, as part of a BYU study-abroad program.
Students will have the option of joining the trek for either spring or
summer term, but are encouraged to stay for both terms. Families will
be able to sign up for one week or more.
