Anyone looking at Frankfurt am Main, Germany, is usually interested in stocks and shares, flight connections, the book fair or Bundesliga soccer. Meanwhile, around 450,000 Christians all over Europe are looking for spiritual leadership and logistical help from the metropolis on the river Main.
At the beginning of August a combined church area presidency with headquarters in Frankfurt took on responsibility for two previously separate administrative regions of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On September 13, the new European administration of the church is opening its doors to the public for the first time. During this open house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. visitors can view the administration buildings at Porthstrasse 5-7, 60435 Frankfurt as well as the adjacent chapel at Eckenheimer Landstrasse 262-264, 60435 Frankfurt.
Guests can learn how the administrative personnel in Frankfurt support more than 1,300 church congregations in Europe, all of which are led exclusively by unpaid volunteers. During the guided tour questions about the beliefs of the LDS, which is a corporation under public law in the State of Hesse in Germany, will be answered. Visitors are cordially invited and welcome.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a Christian church with over 13 million members worldwide. The church has been in Europe since 1837.
