With Olympic trials and qualifications continuing through the end of the month, the list of Mormon athletes bound for Beijing and the 2008 Summer Games continues to grow.
- Ryan Millar and Rich Lambourne, who played collegiately on Brigham Young University's first NCAA championship volleyball team, are back together as members of the United States men's indoor volleyball team. Millar will be making his third Olympics appearance, while Lambourne is a first-time Olympian.
- Bountiful native and University of Utah alum Jake Gibb (pictured) will team up with Sean Rosenthal as one of the United States' beach volleyball tandems. The Gibb-Rosenthal pairing is ranked No. 9 in the world.
- Morgan, Utah, native and resident Lindsey Anderson a former Weber State All-American distance runner and current Wildcat coach — will compete in track and field in the women's steeplechase, an event that will be making its Games debut.
- Former BYU runner and current Orem, Utah, resident Josh McAdams will run in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. McAdams won the 2006 NCAA outdoor title in the event, as well as the 2007 USA Outdoors and 2007 Pan American Games championships.
- Tairia Flowers of Tucson, Ariz., returns as first baseman for the U.S. women's softball team. Flowers was a member of the gold-winning American squad in Athens in 2004.
- Melanie Roach of Bonney Lake, Wash., will compete for the United States in women's weightlifting in the 53-kilogram weight class.
- Lacey Nymeyer of Tucson will compete in the 100-meter freestyle and 4x100-meter freestyle relay swimming events.
- Utah County native and resident Niklas Arrhenius has earned a spot on the Swedish Olympic Team and will compete in the discus, the throwing event that he won an NCAA individual championship in while competing at BYU.
