CEDAR CITY, Utah — Southern Utah University has announced that Thomas S. Monson, 16th president of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be the commencement speaker
for students graduating in May.Along with addressing SUU's
graduates, President Monson, who was named president of the LDS Church in
February 2008, will receive an honorary degree from SUU, according
to a press release.SUU President Michael T. Benson said he is "delighted" that President Monson will take part in this year's events.
