Elder Rodolfo Franco, an area Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, urged Mormon young single adults to have a vision for their future and to seek personal revelation. The fireside Sunday, July 5, was the closing event for the Young Single Adult Hispanic Conference in Salt Lake City."Each person needs to think of where they will be in a year, in two years, in 10," Elder Franco said. "That personal vision of their future, together with personal revelation, will help them to know what the Lord expects of them and how they are to accomplish it."Fireside attendee Raul Hernandez, 26, said this advice was very pertinent to this generation."Many people live for today," the Salt Lake resident said, "and they say, 'I am not going to worry about tomorrow.' We must think about tomorrow if we are going to accomplish anything."Elder Franco stressed the importance of focused prayer as the mechanism for inviting personal revelation."We should focus our personal prayers in seeking out the Lord's will for us," Elder Franco said.In the middle of the fireside, Elder Franco began addressing the group in English."While we bring wonderful things to this country, like our language and our traditions," Elder Franco said, "we must learn to adapt and integrate ourselves here."Elder Franco cautioned the group against the distractions of the world — always trying to be more popular or acquire materials things — and he instead urged the group to have a different priority."With all the distractions out there, we need to have a spiritual priority first."
