MT.com Racing Team: Dunkley finishes first in 'Freedom Run'

Lindsey Dunkley finished first in the women's division of the 5K race at the "Freedom Festival" held in Provo, Utah, taking home the $300 first prize for the second year in a row.A runner on the MormonTimes.com Racing Team, Dunkley finished the "Freedom Run" in 16:48 — eight seconds faster than she did in last year's Fourth of July commemorative event.Dunkley described the last mile of the course as difficult, and mostly uphill. "It's a tough last mile," she said after the event. Part of the course was on the parade route in Provo's downtown, and it was fun to see the many spectators who lined the streets in anticipation of the parade that took place later in the day, Dunkley said. "It's a fun one," she said. "Lot's of people screaming, which is fun," The 30-year-old mother of three races in the spring through the early fall and intends to run in the Deseret News 10K later this month. Also competing in the "Freedom Run" were MormonTimes.com runners Sariah Long, who took second place in the 10K, and Heather Anderson.
