Emily W. Jensen: Today in the Bloggernacle: Another LDS author on the silverscreen and honoring Emma Smith
Emma Smith: In honor of Emma Smith’s upcoming birthday on Sunday, I thought this “Video Tribute For Emma” was a beautiful homage to an “elect lady.” Additionally, check out this transcription of “Emma Hale Smith’s Patriarchal Blessing,” which says, among other things, “Thou shalt be blessed with understanding, and have power to instruct thy sex, teach thy family righteousness, and thy little ones the way of life, and the holy angels shall watch over thee and thou shalt be saved in the kingdom of God.” Wow!
Movie news: Congrats to LDS author Shannon Hale, whose book "Austenland" is being made into a movie. She is beyond delighted, as evidenced in her recent blog posts. See which recognizable actors and actresses (Jane Seymour, Keri Russell and Bret McKenzie) will be playing her characters in “The simple beauty of a perfect cast.” Awesome!
Scout camp: It's summer and what does that mean? Scout camps galore! I found this description (complete with awesome photographs) of a “Scout Camp a la Guam” to be so fascinating. What is it like having scout camp right next to the ocean. Click in to find out!
