SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake County Democratic Party has announced a list of candidates to replace Rep. Jackie Biskupski, who resigned earlier this month because she purchased a home outside the legislative district she has represented for 13 years.
The candidates are: Nikki Boyer, Brian Doughty, Charles Kimball, William McDonnell, Dimitrios Moumoulidis and Mark Towner.
Richard Jaramillo, the party's county first vice chairman, made the announcement Tuesday. Jaramillo is presiding over the replacement selection in lieu of party chairwoman Mary Bishop due to a conflict of interest.
The election by the delegates of District 30 to appoint Biskupski's replacement will take place at the Utah Democratic Party Organizing Convention on July 16 at the Hilton hotel in Salt Lake City.
