A woman died and her brother was critically injured in this one-car rollover near Santaquin on Saturday, April 23, 2011.

SANTAQUIN — One person is dead following a crash on I-15 in southern Utah County. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that Briana Blackwelder, 28, of Salt Lake City, died from injuries suffered when the SUV she was a passenger in veered into the median causing a rollover.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. Saturday around milepost 243 near Santaquin.
Both Blackwelder and the driver, her 19-year-old brother, Ian Blackwelder, were ejected from the green Ford Explorer. Investigators said it appeared that neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
The siblings were taken by ambulance to Mountain View Hospital in Payson. Briana Blackwelder sustained head injuries and died at the hospital. Her brother, who is from Laguna Nigel, Calif., was conscious, but remained in critical condition.
Officials said it was raining at the time of the accident and the roads were wet.
