In an attempt to understand BYU's Honor Code and the school's decision to dismiss star forward Brandon Davies from its No. 3-ranked basketball team, the national media is seeking out former Cougar athletes for understanding.

One of the most interesting, and insightful, explanations of the honor code came from former BYU star Danny Ainge, who finished his career 30 years ago and led the Cougars to their only Elite Eight appearance. Ainge is currently the president of the Boston Celtics.

On a popular Boston sports radio program, Ainge talks about his experience at BYU, his experience with the honor code, and the tenets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ainge, who is currently serving as an LDS bishop, tells about his older brother, who was put on probation by the school for smoking marijuana and later left the school. Based on his brother's experience, Ainge did not consider attending BYU. But during recruiting visits, to BYU and other schools, he realized BYU was the place for him.

Ainge also talks about the TV show "Big Love" and fielding questions about the program from Celtic star Kevin Garnett. He also speaks candidly about his Mormon lifestyle and quotes a Book of Mormon scripture about how to find happiness.

USA Today has more from Ainge as well as Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer.

Read more views and reports about the Davies situation in The Washington Times, The New York Times, Fox Sports, and the Bleacher Report.

Gee, look who's talking. More importantly, who's asking and what are they possibly talking about?

To those that criticize the moral high ground and the recent events around BYU's Honor Code, isn't it interesting that curiosity brings about More..
