Springville athletes sign letters of intent

SPRINGVILLE – Eight senior Springville High athletes, including six girls, signed college letters of intent for the fall 2011 semester Wednesday.

A majority of the athletes who officially signed their letters of intent at Springville High chose to continue their athletic careers at Brigham Young. Matt Sumsion committed to play football for BYU. Multisport star and Deseret News Ms. Basketball Lexi Eaton signed to play women's basketball for the Cougars and Red Devil sprinter Kaisa Rosenberg signed with BYU's womens track team.

Four other members of the Springville girls soccer team – besides Eaton and Rosenberg – also accepted scholarship offers. All four will play women's soccer at the collegiate level. Brooke Larsen is headed to Utah State and Sarah Duncan will play for Utah. Kasha Bandmann chose to sign with BYU-Hawaii and Autumn Woods will play for New Mexico Highlands – an NCAA Division II school.

Brody Swanson, the remaining athlete to sign a letter of intent, will continue his football career at Southern Utah.
