SANDY — Jordan completed its Region 4 dual season with a win over Alta, beating the Hawks 36-33 to cap senior night festivities. This resulted in an region dual record of 5-1 for the Beetdiggers, with their only region loss coming to Pleasant Grove.

“It’s been a great dual season,” said Jordan coach Chris Babinski. “Alta was a great way to finish the dual season and head into the Region Championships. We won some tough matches that really showed how some of the wrestlers have matured and improved over the season. It was a great night.”

Jordan won seven of the 14 varsity matches, but the difference came about because Jordan won more matches by fall and, in matches the Beetdiggers lost, they prevented Alta from securing enough pins to gain extra points.

The Beetdiggers will try to build upon their success at the Region 4 Championships this week. First round matches are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. this afternoon at Pleasant Grove High School.
