PROVO -- Nationally, it is all the rage.
No, we're not talking about Jimmer Fredette's name or game.
We're talking about a beard. No, Jimmer can't have a beard (that would be an honor code violation). It's the beard of former BYU defensive lineman Brett Keisel. The New Jersey Star-Ledger says Keisel's beard was the only interesting thing at Tuesday's Super Bowl media day, calling the beard "part Grizzly Adams, part ZZ Top."
Not that BYU basketball and Jimmermania has cooled off.
The Chicago Tribune looks at the national player of the year race while CBS Sports' Gary Parrish talks about the 32 points Fredette scored in a loss at New Mexico. WBIR in Knoxville, Tenn., says Jimmer has reached cult status.
Here's Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology projections, with BYU as a No. 2 seed. NBC agrees, saying the Cougars will be a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Somewhere in here Jeff someone is confused about Dress code verses Honor code. There's a huge difference...but not enough to really make a story out of...Yawn... who cares!!!
Scoobie
If you are encumbered by either the dress code or the honor code at BYU, don't apply for admission! There are hundreds of other men who would love to take your place on campus but were denied for whatever reason(usually academics). Simple, right?
For the life of me I can't see why growing a beard would be against BYU's honor code. What an inane policy.
