MOUNT PLEASANT — Wednesday, both Liahona Academy and Wasatch Academy did what they were supposed to do in Region 18 action.
Wasatch Academy jumped out to a 25-2 first quarter lead over Tintic and cruised to a 77-27 victory.
Four Tigers scored in double figures — Jarryn Skeete (16), Fred Krajacic (12), Bobby Christie (11) and Mahamoud Diop (10). Wasatch Academy played reserves for much of the game.
"Our second unit did a great job of extending the lead," said athletic director Tyler Kennedy.
Taran Taylor and Travis Green each scored 10 points for Tintic.
At Liahona, Brayden Facemyer recorded his second straight triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in leading the Warriors to a 79-28 victory over Wendover. For good measure, he added six steals and six blocks.
Brandon Nichols, whose night ended midway through the third quarter, led all scorers with 21 points, while Brigg Savage came off the bench to score 15 and Helaman Neyra added 10.
Wasatch Academy and Liahona meet Friday night in Mt. Pleasant. Both are undefeated in Region 18 play and ranked first and second in the state.

Can't wait! We had such a great time watching Wasatch Academy play (and beat) a huge 5a team a few weeks ago, and I suspect this game will be as exciting.
The game will also be live video streamed on Wasatch Academy's Ustream channel, as More..
Okay, so I decided to make the trip to see WA and Liahona. I've seen what are probably the top 10 or so teams in 1A and these two are head and shoulders above the rest. After tonight I' ve got to say WA is in a class by themselves. I'm not giving WA More..
