TOOELE — A 15-year-old boy was flown by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake area hospital early Monday after being struck by a car and sustaining minor injuries.
The teenager was crossing the street at 200 West and state Route 112 about 7:30 a.m. when he was struck by a westbound vehicle, Tooele City Police Sgt. Brian White said.
"It was just kind of a low-light intersection in the early morning hours," White said.
A preliminary investigation did not suggest that speeding or distracted driving played a part in the accident.
The boy sustained minor injuries but was flown as a precaution. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. She was the only one in the vehicle at the time.
Police believe the boy may have been walking to a school bus stop at the time.
