SPRINGVILLE — Driving over a pothole in the road caused a truck's fuel tank to rupture Tuesday night, spilling about 100 gallons of diesel fuel in the parking lot of a gas station.
Springville Department of Public Safety personnel were notified of the spill, at the Flying J truck stop at 1460 N. 1750 West, and were able to stop it up before it spread too far, according to Springville police Lt. David Caron.
The driver, who was entering the east section of the truck stop at about 9 p.m., stopped his vehicle as soon as he became aware of the problem. Caron said he was unaware of the value of the fuel lost, but that fire personnel were working to clean it up until late Tuesday.
