PROVO — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has requested a building permit from Provo for a 40,445-square-foot addition to the east wing of the Jacob Hamblin building at the Missionary Training Center.
The Planning Commission will consider the request Feb. 10.
"The renovations will improve efficiency of deliveries and provide additional space for on-campus services, including the bookstore, mail room, office space and additional senior missionary apartments," said LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter.
The church also is requesting a conditional-use permit to exceed the city's limit of two stories in the zone where the MTC is located, according to the public notice for the Planning Commission meeting.
